SAS1-SAS3

WRITTEN EXAMS:

  1. Conduct the written exams during classes on 9/10 February 2026.
  2. Use the ready-made exam papers available here: CLICK - WRITTEN EXAM SAS1-SAS3
  3. If the written exam takes less than the full lesson (ideally 30 minutes), use the remaining time for revision before the oral exams.
  4. Grade the checked exam on a 1–100% scale and enter the grade in Lang Lion by adding the WRITTEN EXAM category with a weight of 7.
  5. Enter the grades into the system by 13 February 2026, by the end of the day.
  6. If a student scored less than 60% or did not take the exam – encourage them to take or retake the exam. To do so, leave the test signed with student’s first name, last name, and group name in the School’s Office and inform the student to go there.
  7. Staple together the checked exam papers for the whole group, write the group name on the first page, and leave them in the School’s Office.
  8. NOTE: the written exam is not required to pass the semester; the oral exam is more important.

ORAL EXAMS:

  1. Oral exams at these levels are conducted by an exam board (one teacher asks questions, the other assesses the exam).
  2. Board oral exams will take place on 11/12/13 February 2026 – you will receive the detailed board schedule about a week before the exams. Exams take place approximately during the regular class times of a given group. (NOTE: in groups SAS2 Koczargi and SAS3 Koczargi there will be a change – the oral exam will take place on 9 February (Monday), and the written exam on 11 February (Wednesday))
  3. Oral exam sets can be found here: CLICK: ORAL EXAM SETS (do not use them for revision during classes!)
  4. Exam duration: 15 minutes per pair of students (and 20 minutes for a group of three).
  5. The teacher asking questions should keep in mind that, whenever possible, they should help ‘elicit’ answers from students – sometimes giving a hint such as one letter or syllable can dramatically change the exam result. Do not be afraid to “help” our candidates, of course within reason.
  6. Assessment forms used by the assessing teacher can be found here: CLICK - SAS1-3 ASSESSMENT FORMS. The forms are printed by the School’s Office and will be available for teachers in the teachers’ room.
  7. When a pair of students finishes the exam, the assessing teacher has a moment to consult the results with the teacher leading the group – the opinion of two people is always more reliable than that of one. The result from the assessment form is multiplied by 2, the ‘%’ sign is added, and this is the final exam result (e.g. a student received 40 points – multiply by two = 80% → this is the student’s result). In the case of absence, enter NB instead of a result.
  8. After the oral exams are completed, staple together the assessment forms for the entire group and leave them in the School’s Office.
  9. During breaks between examined groups, the teachers in charge have a moment to immediately enter their students’ exam grades.
  10. Enter the grades in Lang Lion, remembering that the ORAL EXAM grade must have a weight of 7. NOTE: a student must pass the oral exam with at least 50–60% to pass the semester. If they do not, they will have to retake the exam during the second semester.
  11. Make sure you have entered all grades into Lang Lion no later than 13 February 2026, by the end of the day. On 14 February, parents will receive information about the possibility of checking exam results in the system.
